The following is a series of fortunate events I participated in. As I have said before, it all started with me looking for examples of love in the world. Where I got to the point all I could see was Love in the world. There I found God in Spirit form. I could the effects of Love sweeping through the world all around me like the soft breeze on a spring day swaying the reeds in the field. Then I started to participate in that Love, and discovering the other qualities of God, such Goodness, Generosity, kindness, compassion, many others and doing them as well. The more I did that the more I entered into Gods work, the more God entered into me. The more God assigned me to do to advance His Kingdom and Blessed me in the process.
The title of this series comes from a line in an old TV show called Heros. At time it sprang to mind I didn’t know where I heard it before. One day, that line Save Cheerleader and Save the World played a big part in my work with God and The One Kingdom. I didn’t really watch the tv series that much. I don’t watch much Tv. For some reason, that line had stuck with me. I had returned to Seattle area after being in Alaska for a while and spending time with my Momma. I was asked if I wanted to do security for upcoming some shows and concerts. I said yes! Of Course, it is one of the funest jobs on the planet. Doing that job you don’t pay to go to one show, you get paid to go to them all.
On 29 January 2023 I was asked to work the ATC, All Star National Cheer Championship at the Meydenbauer Center in Belleview, Washinton. I was place on the 4th floor of the event center where the cheer teams were to practice before their competition. Given the set of rules for everyone to follow for safety and security reasons. For obvious safety reasons, all the young ladies on teams from ages 4 to 26 were told to not tumble or do cartwheels in the Fourier because they could fall off the balcony down 4 floors to the main lobby. I was given strict orders to remind of them and not let them do that. They are delightful group of kids, full of big energy, very determined and competitive and lots of parents running round. Such a fun thing to be a part of.
You know, children are children? and They forget the rules just being kids. I only had to yell a few times about not tumbling or doing cartwheels near the balcony. At my 15-minute break, I went to use the restroom on the 4th floor. I was washing my hands, and I heard a soft Wisper say, Save the cheerleader and Save the World. I couldn’t remember where I heard that before. I laughed. Then I heard it again, Save the cheerleader and Save the World. I stopped and stood there then shrugged it off. As I was leaving the restroom, I went around the corner, and one girl started doing cartwheels in my direction. It was if time slowed to a crawl. I side stepped away from her to the right, next to the balcony to move out of the way and next to another girl standing next to the railing. The one girl doing cartwheels bumps into the girl next to the railing and she starts to go over the railing right when I moved next to her. I reached up and grabbed her right before she went over. She screamed! I pulled her back over to the floor. A coach ran over and said are you ok to her??? The little cheerleader who was age 6 grabbed on to me. I looked down and said you, okay? She started crying, looked up and said thank you! I said oh yeah, I am just glad you are ok! The other girl who was doing the cartwheels came over and said I’m sorry I’m sorry. They hugged then we all turned around and looked over the railing. The little 6-year-old girl looks up at me and said I almost died! I said ya you came close but ya didn’t. You are safe now. I am glad you are okay! She said Thank you! and hugged me again. The coach standing there thanked me, then walked over called her troup together and said no doing cartwheels up here. All the girls said Yes Mam! and they went back to practicing their routines.
The next day at the show, while working on the 4th floor again. The little cheerleader who almost fell 4 floors down to the lobby came up to me with her mother. She said I wanted to give you to have this for saving me yesterday. I said Ohhh you don’t have to do that. She handed me this magic wand and said here, I want you to have this, you will always be on my team. Her mother said thank God you were there at the right place and right time to grab her from falling off the 4th floor balcony. Thank you, sir! I said I am just glad she is ok. I took a knee to be at her level, looked her in the eye and said wow! I never had a magic wand before! Thank you again! She gave me a big hug and her mother and her left. After work I placed the magic wand on the passenger seat next to me in my car.
The very next day I was sent to work at a Big Amazon Trade Show in downtown Seattle. I got there and they dispatched us to our positions. They said you will be by yourself for a little bit. The person who was working the floor with me was on was running late. She was new and would be there soon. About an hour after being at work this young lady comes up to me and says, I am your partner today. Sorry I was late. I just moved here from Detroit last week so I’m still learning my way around the city. I looked at her and stopped. She looked a doppelganger of the Glynda the Good witch in the very first Wizard of Oz. I just stood there staring at her. She said are you ok? Do I have something on my face? She started wiping her hands on her cheeks and said sorry I was eating a bagel on the way here. I said you are from Detroit. She said yep! I came out here to go to school at the UW and I took this job because its flexible hours and shifts and that works with me going to college. I said anyone ever tell you, you exactly like Glynda the Good witch from the wizard of Oz? She laughs and ohhhh that is why you are looking at me that way! Yes! all the time! I said you do know Seattle is nicknamed The Emerald City right? She laughs and says whaaaat? I said Seattle! Seattle is nicknamed The Emerald City. She said noooo way! really.?? I said Yes! it is. She said nooo way! I said ask anyone. Seattle is the Emerald City. I said Who would have ever thought Glynda the Good witch came to the Emerald City from Detroit???! and We both started laughing. Then I remember the magic wand I got from the cheerleader the day before. I said I have something for you. Something special since you are now in the Emerald City. I will go get it from my car on my lunch. She said Oh you don’t have to do that. I laughed said trust me! it’s meant for you.
On my lunch break I went out to my car and got the Magic wand I was given by the cheerleader. I took it with me and gave it to a girl from Detroit, who just moved to The Emerald City, looked exactly like Glynda the good witch from the first wizard of Oz. When I handed it to her, she lit up like a Christmas tree on the 4th of July and said Ohhh myyyy God! nooo way! i said way! She says, I never had a magic wand before. I said that is because you come to The Emerald City to get it. She where did you get it at? She said, How funny! it looks exactly like the magic wand Glynda had in the movies. I said The Wizard gave it to me of course. I know HIM well. I came in close and whispered; his real name is THE DUDE! but shhhhhh don’t tell anyone. She Roared laughing. I told her I just got this yesterday, so I know it is for you! It was meant for you! She laughed then wiping the tears from her cheeks said Uhem! For my first benediction as the good witch in The Emerald City, she said Andy, friend of The Wizard, then she winked at me and whispering said, THE DUDE! I bestow upon you and your whole life much Love and many Blessings! I said Perfect! Everything I always wanted! Thank you! We both laughed. I got off work an hour earlier than her. When I was leaving my shift she stopped me and she gave me a hug. She said This is my first time away from my family and my home. I don’t know anyone here. It’s been such a big scary thing to leave home and go away to college in another city where I don’t know anyone. Thank you for making me feel welcome in The Emerald City. I don’t feel so much afraid anymore. I smiled and said You bet! and now you have your magic wand to protect you! She smiled and said I do!
I was laughing all the way home that night. I said Wow DUDE! That is some super cool stuff. Thank YOU For letting me be a part of that. I had the day off the next day. Now, I had made a lot of friends at big shows. A friend called me and said are you working tonight? I said I have the day off. She said I know you are used to being backstage at big shows and all that. I am working this small jazz show, come hang out with me backstage. I will put your name on the list, and you can come hang out with me while I work it. I said Jazz? She said Yes its Jazz show, it will be fun. I just monitoring the stage lighting after it is all set up during the show. I will buy ya dinner and all that, just come hang out. You don’t have to work. It will be fun. I said OK, ok, ok you don’t have to twist my arm, free dinner works, sounds good I will come hangout.
I get to the venue around 845pm because I had some other stuff to take care of that day. I texted my friend and she said come in from the back, and head stage right and you will see me. You will have to show ID but your name is on the list as a special guest. They will give you a backstage pass after you check in. I said, ok sounds good. I meet the security crew, they check my name, give me a pass and as I am heading in the door to backstage, this Radiant Red head girl, who looks just a porcelain doll, comes running up to me and says in a panicking voice, Oh My God, can you pleaaaase help me??? i said are you ok? She said I am but I’m going to die if I go out on stage in these, she lifted her long black dress and showed me she was wearing purple crocs. I smiled and started laughing. She said Seriously??? I said, ahhhh they are not bad! I think they are perfect! She put her hand on her hip and said I am on in 5 minutes mister! I cannot walk on stage in these! I am already nervous as hell! Can you please run out to my car and grab my red shoes???! I looked at her like deer in headlights. She said Can you help me Mister??? I smiled and said You betcha! She handed me her keys to her Cadillac and said they are in the back seat. Please Hurry! So I ran outside and there must be a hundred cars in the parking lot. I hit the panic button and of course her car is parked way on the other side of the parking lot. I ran out there and opened her car and looked in the back seat and these are what she called her red shoes.
I stopped in my tracks. I said really DUDE??? Dorthy is a jazz singer in The Emerald City now. and started hysterically laughing. Arnt these the same damn ruby slippers Dorth wore???? Then I heard her panicking voice say in my head, where is he??? and I grabbed them, locked her car and ran back to the entry showing my badge as I passed security and entered into backstage. She kicked her purple crocks off right there, slipped the shoes on, looked at me and said thank you! You just saved my whole world! leaned forward and gave me a big kiss on my cheek. She spun around, grabbed the microphone out of someone hand as she ran through dark curtain on the stage, stood in the spotlight and started singing. I just stood there for a minute. I couldn’t move. I looked down at her purple crocks laying there, then upward toward the ceiling and said DUDE!
I went over to see my friend who was on stage right. When I got there, she says to me, what do you have on your cheek? I grabbed my phone and looked at my face with the camera and I had a big red lipstick kiss mark on my cheek. I pointed to the beautiful red head on the stage and said her. She laughs and says to me, well Handsome man, I was going to buy you dinner tonight, but it looks like you already have take out. I laughed and said I just happened to be there when she needed me to be. She says is it a long story or a quick minute? I said quit minute but not what you think. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you. My friend laughed, handing me a napkin to wipe the kiss mark off my face, said I love a man who doesn’t kiss and tell. I will buy ya dinner just for that.
I never talked to the Cheerleader again that gave me the magic wand. I doubt I will ever see her again. She will go on to live a long life, that she would have never had, had THE DUDE not placed me in the exact spot HE needed me to be for her. I never again saw Glynda the good witch from Detroit, who I gave the magic wand too in the Emerald City. I never talked again to the Radiant Red head girl, who looked like a porcelain doll wearing the same looking shoes that Dorthy wore in the wizard of Oz that night. I don’t even know her name. It wasn’t about me. I was just being a part of the One Kingdom. It was all about THE DUDE and those lady’s, who didn’t know they needed HIM, but HE was there anyways placing me right there at the exact moment He needed me to be there for them. These may seem like small miracles to some people. They were not small miracles to those 3 ladies. and I am Most certain without a doubt, -the answer to someone’s prayers.
Jesus said, I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, He doeth the works.

Wonderful stories Andy. You certainly made a difference in each of their lives.
Ha ha ha, Thank you! uhem, please Re- read that last sentence in this article. You are giving credit to the wrong fella. I am just a vessel.
🙂
Being a vessel is a good analogy. I’m reminded of the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace)
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Ha! I read that yesterday. Its going to be one of my posts in the future.
You are reading ahead, John. Ha ha ha.
Uhem, today my bible app dinged and gave me this scripture.
1 Peter 4:8 KJV
[8] And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
How appropriate the day before Thanks – Giving.
Have a wonderful day Mister John. And others who are reading.
